Book a Service

Arrange preventive maintenance or a service visit for your UV Laser marking system through our contact page enquiry form. We support sites in Ekurhuleni and across South Africa with demos, installs, training and repairs.

Book a Service

Book the right service for your marking line

Use the service booking route when your UV marking system needs routine maintenance, fault finding, software help or a planned check before a busy production run. In glass and plastics work, a small issue with focus, alignment or cooling can show up as poor mark contrast, slow cycle times or rejected parts, so it is better to act early.

We handle service work for single machines and full lines in Jet Park, Boksburg, Germiston, Kempton Park, Benoni, Alberton, Midrand and Pretoria. If your site runs shifts, has load-shedding backups or works near the coast where humidity can affect components, tell us that when you send the booking request. It helps us prepare the right spares and tools.

  • Preventive maintenance for scheduled shutdowns
  • Fault checks for marking quality, power or software issues
  • Machine installation and line integration support
  • Operator training after a service visit

How to send a service request

Clients reach us through the enquiry form on our contact page. When you complete it, keep the details clear and practical so our team can assess the job before we call back. This helps us decide whether the visit is for on-site repair, remote software setup, sample testing or a deeper inspection at your plant.

Include the machine model, the material you are marking, the fault or service need, and the town or industrial area. If the issue is affecting production, say whether the line is down completely or still running at reduced speed. That single detail makes planning easier.

  • Company name and site location
  • Contact person and role on site
  • Machine serial number or system description
  • What happened, when it started and how often it occurs
  • Any recent changes to fixtures, software or materials

What happens after you submit the form

Once your enquiry comes through, we review the information and match the request to the right support team. For many jobs, we can first talk through the symptoms and decide whether a visit is needed straight away or if a quick check can solve the problem. For more involved faults, we schedule a technician to attend site with the correct test parts and service equipment.

Our team in Jet Park includes support for operations, applications, training and field work. That means the same booking can cover machine checks, operator guidance and process changes if your marking needs have shifted. We keep the process practical and direct, with as little downtime as possible, because lost production hours cost money.

Preparing your site for the visit

A little preparation saves time on the day and helps the technician get to the real issue sooner. If the machine is in a guarded area or tied into a conveyor, make sure access is arranged before arrival. If there are site rules for PPE, induction, forklift movement or contractor sign-in, have those ready. On busy plants in Boksburg and Germiston this can make a big difference.

Before the visit, it also helps to note recent changes. New plastic formulation, a different glass finish, altered cycle speed or a fixture change can all affect marking results. If there have been power interruptions, unstable air supply or a cooling issue, please mention that too.

  • Clear access to the machine and control panel
  • Sample parts or rejected parts available for inspection
  • Access to the computer or software used for the marking process
  • Site contact available during the visit
  • Any permits or sign-in steps completed in advance

Maintenance tasks we commonly handle

Preventive maintenance keeps the system working consistently and helps avoid surprise stoppages. During a booked service, we may inspect the beam path, check the optics, clean exposed components, review software settings, verify fixture position and test mark quality on representative samples. If needed, we also check process timing and adjust the setup for better repeatability.

For production sites in South Africa, stable performance matters more than ever. Temperature swings, dust, vibration and intermittent power can all affect marking quality. A proper service visit looks at the machine and the line around it, not just the one part that failed.

  • Routine checks and preventive maintenance
  • Breakdown repairs and fault diagnosis
  • Software setup and parameter review
  • Fixture design adjustments
  • Process optimisation for better mark quality

After the service is complete

When the visit is done, we will explain what was found, what was corrected and what to watch for next. If any wear item or spare part needs attention later, we will flag it so you can plan ahead instead of waiting for a breakdown. Where operator training is needed, we can build that into the same support plan or schedule it soon after.

If your site is in Midrand, Pretoria or another area further afield, we can still support the job through nationwide travel and follow-up. For regular production users, it often makes sense to set up a maintenance schedule so service happens before faults interrupt orders. That keeps the line steadier and the marking quality more predictable.

When to book without waiting

Do not wait for a total failure if you are seeing repeated quality issues. Early service is usually quicker and cheaper than running a machine until it stops. If marks are fading, the position is drifting, the software is not behaving as expected or the system needs a planned check after heavy use, send the booking request now.

Riaan Pretorius and the UV Laser team have supported South African marking sites since 2009, with demos, installs, training and repairs handled from Jet Park, Boksburg. We work across Ekurhuleni and beyond, and we understand the practical pressure of keeping production moving.

Questions we get asked

How do I book a service visit?

Send an enquiry through the contact page form with your site details, machine information and a short note about the fault or maintenance need. Our team will review it and respond with the next step.

Can you help if the machine is still running but marks are poor?

Yes. That is a good time to book. We can inspect the setup, check the process settings and look for the cause before it becomes a breakdown.

Do you support sites outside Ekurhuleni?

Yes. We work nationwide with demos, installs, training, maintenance and repairs, including sites in Gauteng and other provinces.
