The people who keep markings consistent

UV Laser was founded in 2009 and the team has grown around one simple job: helping South African businesses mark glass and plastics with clear, permanent results. From busy production lines in Ekurhuleni to smaller workshops in Pretoria or Midrand, the focus stays on getting the right marking method in place for the material, the speed and the finish required.

Clients usually start with a sample or a site demo, then the team works through machine setup, process settings and integration details. That means less trial and error on your side, and more time spent getting dependable output, even when loadshedding, dust or coastal humidity make plant conditions less forgiving.

Leadership and day to day direction

Riaan Pretorius, Managing Director, leads the business from Jet Park and keeps the technical direction practical. He works closely with clients who need a clear plan for installation, operator handover and long term service, especially where marking forms part of a larger production workflow.

Riaan is hands on with project planning and site requirements, from fixture design to line integration. He is also the person who keeps an eye on turnaround times and the kind of support South African businesses need when production cannot sit and wait.

  • Project scoping and client requirements
  • Equipment selection and application fit
  • Rollout planning for single sites or multiple branches

Operations that keep projects moving

Naledi Mokoena, Operations Manager, keeps the work organised behind the scenes. She coordinates scheduling, job flow and the practical details that make sure demos, installs and follow ups happen in the right order. It sounds simple, but good operations are what keep a project on track when there are suppliers, technicians and production windows to manage.

Her role also supports clients with timing, site access and paperwork where needed. For businesses in Germiston, Benoni or Alberton, that means less back and forth and a clearer path from enquiry to machine going live.

Applications, testing and process setup

Refilwe Mahlangu, Senior Applications Technician, works on sample testing and marking trials so clients can see how a substrate behaves before anything is installed. Glass and plastics can respond differently depending on thickness, finish and additives, so this testing stage matters more than many people expect.

Refilwe spends time checking mark quality, contrast and repeatability, then adjusts settings to suit the actual job. If a production run needs a finer mark for labelling or a cleaner finish for branding, she helps find the setting that works in practice, not just on paper.

  • Sample testing for glass and plastic parts
  • Mark quality checks for clarity and permanence
  • Process optimisation for repeat jobs and production lines

Training that fits the shop floor

Anele Dlamini, Training Coordinator, handles operator training for customers across Gauteng and beyond. Her sessions are built around the way your team actually works, whether the machine sits in a production room, a packing area or next to an existing line.

Anele focuses on practical use, safe handling and basic troubleshooting so operators can keep the system running with confidence. She also helps with refresher sessions after installation, which is useful when staff change or when a process has been adjusted after the first few months.

Training is available nationwide, with support arranged around the realities of travel, shift schedules and production deadlines.

Service, installation and on site support

Thabo Khumalo, Field Installation Specialist, is the person who gets equipment positioned, aligned and running on site. He handles machine installation, software setup and line integration, then checks that the marking output matches the agreed sample before handover.

Priya Naidoo, Service Administrator, manages the service side so breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance and spares supply are tracked properly. Her role keeps the support process organised, which helps when a client needs a quick response or a planned maintenance visit between production shifts.

  • Machine installation and software setup
  • Preventive maintenance and breakdown repairs
  • Spares supply and after sales coordination

What clients can expect from the Jet Park team

From Jet Park, Boksburg, the team serves Ekurhuleni and the wider country with demos, installs and support that match local business conditions. That includes factories in Kempton Park, Benoni and Germiston, as well as clients further afield who need reliable marking advice without fuss.

The common thread across every department is attention to detail. Whether the job is a small branding run or an integrated line setup, the team works to keep markings precise, permanent and suitable for real production conditions. Sometimes that means adjusting a fixture, sometimes it means reworking a process setting, and sometimes it means calling a job done because it finally meets the spec.
